Building & Grounds

Ralph Maffett family moved to Little Hocking area on May 3, 1943.
On the following Lord's Day, lacking transportation to attend elsewhere,
they invited others to worship with them in their home.
In June 1945, the small group acquired the old Red Bush school
property on Route 555 in which to hold services, and it became known
as the church of Christ at Red Bush. The old school building
was renovated, the roof repaired, and pews were built by members.
The brethren later added two classrooms and an entry into the rear
of the building.
The need for a larger building and more parking area prompted the
congregation to purchased land south of Little Hocking off State
Route 50 and 7. In 1972 a new building was started and he
dedication was held on October 27, 1974. In 1979 the fellowship
room was added onto the original building. In 1985 an on-going
leaking problem with the flat roof over the classrooms was corrected
when a completely new sloping roof was added. Outside additions
include a storage building and pavilion built in 1989.
